Advent Fair THIS SATURDAY 10am-3pm
Come with your friends and do some Christmas shopping. We have 40 stalls with talented crafters and artists galore. There will be children’s crafts, Advent Trails and face painting, and visits from Father Christmas and the Christmas Elf. There’s a wonderful cake stall, homemade soup for lunch and a proliferation of mince pies!
If you are bringing soup or cakes either deliver them during office hours this week (Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday 10-2) or on Friday afternoon (2-5) or Saturday morning. Please label them with what they are and ingredients. Also put your name on the container if you want it returned.
Looking forward to seeing you!
Advent 5th Sunday Special
This Sunday we have one special service for everyone at 11am.
Afterwards we’re having a creative coffee time! If you’re coming to join in, please bring some mince pies or cakes to share with everyone – deliver to the kitchen before the service starts.
We’d love everyone to join in the activities . The children are having a Lego-themed Christmas so we want to build some Christmassy models to put round church – we’ll supply some ideas and the Lego, or you may have your own ideas. We’re also going to make decorations for our tree - lots of glittery J-E-S-U-Ses. Or you can just sit and chat and colour a lovely Christmas card for someone. FOR ALL AGES!

Bishop Rob will be formally enthroned at Carlisle Cathedral on Saturday 29th November at 2pm. The service will be live streamed.

Questions for Life Groups:
From Sunday 23rd sermon by George Briggs
Now & Not Yet
Reading: Philippians 1:2-11 & Revelation 21:1-7
Safeguarding Sunday:
1. Hebrews 11.1 “Faith is confidence in what we hope for, and assurance about what we do not see”. What is it that you hope for as a Christian? What is it that you are confident of though you do not yet see it?
2. How does today’s reading from Revelation 21.1-6 inform or encourage your hopes and expectations?
3. Our verse from Philippians 1.6 reveals Paul’s confidence that the good work God has begun in and among us will be brought to completion - how does this speak to you as you hear it today?
4. “Now and Not Yet” is a theological expression about what we see now and what we will one day see of God’s Kingdom. Jesus talked about a Kingdom that is both a present reality, within us and close at hand among us, and he also talked about a coming Kingdom - to be revealed fully at his return. Jesus taught us to pray for the coming of the kingdom and God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven …
What ’Now’ expressions of the kingdom do you long and pray for? (What ‘Now' expressions of God’s kingdom did Jesus and his disciples share with others?) What 'Not Yet' realities do you yearn for?
