Kendal District Debt Centre

Poverty and debt robs many people of life in all its fullness. Regardless of their situation we believe that everyone should experience equal dignity, freedom and to have the opportunity to be able to hear the good news of the Gospel.

Kendal and District Debt Centre (Registered Charity No 11959511), working in partnership with Christians Against Poverty (CAP), helps to support individuals in the locality whose lives are blighted by the burden of debt. Working through local debt centres linked with local churches, CAP not only provides free professional debt advice but also educational resources such as Money Courses that teach basic money management skills thereby addressing some of the root causes of poverty.

Kendal and District Debt Centre's manager, supported by a team of volunteer befrienders and a group of local churches, is the visible front-line of this service - seeing clients, providing emotional support, collating information and liaising with CAP to offer debt management solutions . All of this is done within a framework of Christian compassion and support and by offering clients the opportunity for prayer and the sharing of the hope that only Jesus can bring.

Open Doors (Persecuted Christians)
So many of God’s children live in countries, or districts of some counties, where they live under constant pressure. Some of them are threatened by violence, damage to property, which also may be taken from them, and their churches confiscated or destroyed. The impact upon these Christians and their families, who in many cases have to be relocated, to safer places to live, is enormous. So many of these persecuted Christians show amazing courage and strong faith in our Lord and Saviour. The following organisations helps support and advise Christians who are being persecuted throughout the world. WEBSITE LINK Contact: Grace Bryers
