Mission Partnerships
At STK we stay connected with a number of mission groups and organisations. We support the organisations prayerfully and financially. Here's a brief summary and links to their websites:
Kendal District Debt Centre
Kendal and District Debt Centre, a registered charity, helps individuals who are blighted by the burden of debt, to find sustainable solutions to their situations, whilst sharing the good news of the Christian faith.
We work collaboratively with a group of local churches, and in partnership with Christians Against Poverty (CAP), to provide free debt advice, together with preventative educational resources that help address the root causes of poverty.

Manna House
Manna House works for the benefit of the public in South Lakeland, providing advice, advocacy and a drop-in support centre for those who are homeless, vulnerably housed, lonely or needing help. Manna House, Christian in its foundation and inspiration, is now completely non-sectarian in action, with members of all faiths or none. Without ‘preaching’, its ethos is to put into practice the simple gospel message, ‘love your neighbour as yourself’.

European Christian Mission - ECM (Stephen Bell)
Stephen and Tabita work with European Christian Mission International in central Europe, Croatia, Bosnia and Albania. They plant churches in and around Zagreb (Croatia) e.g. Doubrava and Varaz Din.
Having successfully planted the Dubrava church, they now help lead three congregations in Varazdin, Novi Marof, and Sesvete. Their influence extends across the nation through the Lausanne Movement and they are facilitating a unique mission with Nigerian Pastor Samuel to develop a Croation-Nigerian partnership in the Gospel.

Church Ministry among Jewish People (CMJ)
The three-fold ministry of CMJ:
Engagement: Actively involved in being a witness to the Jewish communities in North London, Manchester and the Midlands. Also in France, Germany and USA.
Encouragement: Connect Christian Jews with others and seek to help them to understand who they are in Christ. Give support when Christians are rejected by communities and families and help them in the struggle to fit in with the largely Gentile church.
Education: In Jerusalem the Anglican International School was founded and continues to be affiliated with CMJ. In the UK CMJ have ministry of teaching Christians here to better understand our Jewish roots. CMJ also offer churches teaching that opens the bible, showing it through the Jewish eyes of its writers and the context of both Old and New Testament.

Northern Inter-Schools Christian Union (NISCU)
NISCU is a charitable organisation working in Primary and Secondary schools. Laura Kirkham and Katy Hall work for NISCU South Lakes, which is one of the six areas supported through prayer, financial and in practical ways by local Christians and Churches, and by, a local Area Support Group. NISCU works with local churches with a shared vision across Cumbria, North Lancashire and part of North Yorkshire. Currently we offer lessons about Jesus, God and the bible, lead collective worship, assemblies and support clubs and Christian Unions as well as opportunities for prayer spaces and Year 6 ‘Moving on’ sessions. Listening service training is also available through NISCU for volunteers to serve schools. www.niscu.org.uk

Kathmandu International Study Centre/ KISC – EQUIP
EQUIP stands for Education Quality and Improvement Programme and was set up by KISC (Kathmandu International Study Centre– the Christian Mission School) It now provides quality training for Nepali schools in several districts, particularly in rural areas, most of its trainers are now Nepali Christian nationals. All of this is done within the context of Christian values.
Since it was set up, the Nepali Government has recognised the EQUIP model of teacher training and has adopted it as the national model. EQUIP works with the teachers to equip them with the tools and skills necessary to develop problem solving and creative thinking in addition to traditional learning.

Open Doors
Open Doors is an international ministry serving persecuted Christians and churches worldwide. These Christians face threat by violence; sometimes their properties and churches are destroyed. Open Doors mobilises the church in England and Ireland to raise awareness of the persecuted Christians in signing e.g. the ‘Arise Africa’ petition, which calls for protection, justice and restoration for those affected by these conflicts. This Christian organisation supplies Bibles leadership training, literacy programmes, livelihood support and advocacy services, trauma care for those who are persecuted and suffer for their faith. The Christians who have fled persecution, may receive theological training, so that they are equipped to lead in the underground church. Open Doors provides safe places for those persecuted Christians.

Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF)
MAF is a worldwide Christian organisation that uses light aircraft to reach isolated communities with urgent needs in more than 30 of the poorest countries in the World. They undertake 280 flights a day transporting patients, relief teams, and medical supplies along with Christian workers. STK is linked to Sam & Abby Baguma in Uganda, where Sam has the dual role of Country Director as well as director of MAF’s global emergency response work. Pray for them as they serve in a country with many different challenges.
