Electoral Roll 2026

The Church Electoral Roll is open for revision until the 5th April.

If you consider yourself a member of this church, you are invited to join the official church roll which is the membership list recognised by the Church of England for this parish in the Carlisle Diocese. Being on the Electoral Roll does NOT make you a “member” of the Church; simply regarding St. Thomas’s as your spiritual home does that.

However, joining the Electoral Roll allows you to vote on church matters at the APCM and stand for the PCC.  You can see if you’re already on the roll by checking the list on the PCC notice board.  There is also a map of St. Thomas’s Parish.

Barbara Handley (Church Electoral Roll Officer) will be at the door with forms for you to fill in. All completed forms should go to Barbara.

Application of the sermon for Life Groups

  1. To begin – why not share what you love or appreciate most about this time of year.  Or perhaps what is most difficult.

  2. In what ways do you see God at work through these joys (and sorrows)?

  3. In our family service the reading was taken from the Jesus Story Book Bible which blends various passages from Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24 and John 20. The official reading for today is John 20:1-18.  In your group have bibles to hand and ask different people to read each of four resurrection accounts.

  4. Discuss the apparent similarities and differences.

  5. Who encounters Jesus first after the resurrection and why might this be significant?

  6. Outside the tomb Mary mistakes the risen Jesus for a Gardener.  We sometime refer to Jesus as the Good Shepherd.  In what ways could you describe Jesus as the Good Gardener?  Perhaps you could think of some instances where Jesus speaks about the Kingdom of God in relation to plants, crops, fruit and growth.

  7. Understandably Mary wanted to hold on to Jesus for her own sake but Jesus commissioned her as the first apostle (to go and tell).  As you pray for one another ask the Holy Spirit to commission you to share Good News.
